Pre-operative Instructions

For GENERAL ANESTHESIA do not eat or drink anything six (6) hours prior to your surgery.

In all cases you should:

1)  Refrain from smoking 24 hours before surgery.

2)  Take no medication other than what was discussed with you at the time of your consultation.  

3)  Wear loose, short sleeve clothing.  

4)  If you wear contact lenses, leave them at home.  

5)  Bring a responsible adult who will drive you to and from the appointment and who can stay at the office during the procedure.  

6)  Please remove all fingernail polish before your appointment.  The amount of oxygen is measured through your fingernail and nail polish blocks the reading.  

FEMALE PATIENTS PLEASE NOTE:  If you were given antibiotics please be advised , you should use other means of birth control for the duration of your current cycle.
